Putting It All Together

 CHAPTER 15

Once you’ve successfully completed the requisite due diligence of the “Choose” portion of the process, it’s time to make a decision! You can now do so with increased confidence. I don’t mean you should be confident you’ll get exactly what you think you want. Nope. I’m talking about giving your future self no grounds to second guess, or question, or regret the decision you’re making today. Which option makes the most sense based on what you know? Please keep in mind, the goal here isn’t to choose “correctly.” No. The goal is to choose “correctly” for you

If you find yourself feeling stuck or facing a difficult decision, get excited about the information and strategies available to you! With some practice, and a little bit of trial and error, you’ll be better prepared to successfully disengage your autopilot and begin living with intention.

Being consistently committed to feeling, thinking, and choosing (in that order) allows for certainty about at least one thing in a rather uncertain world. Even if nothing else goes according to plan, you can feel satisfied you made the best decision you could, using the best information available to you at that time.

The highly subjective nature of schemas, along with the countless individual differences among people, means there can be no one size fits all, no good or bad, no right or wrong answers, per se. The healthiest choice for one person may look completely different for the next. The overarching goal here is to use what you’ve learned to objectively synthesize the unique information and insights you’ve accumulated along the way.
